Details: Zelensky's office confirmed that the meeting took place, but no further details have been disclosed. According to the Office of the President, the discussion lasted approximately 15 minutes.
This meeting was the first after a heated exchange in the Oval Office in Washington in February, occurring at a critical juncture in negotiations aimed at reducing hostilities between Ukraine and Russia.
"President Trump and President Zelensky met privately and had a very productive discussion. More details will be provided later," said Stephen Chung, White House Communications Director.
Trump, who is urging both sides to reach a ceasefire agreement, stated on Friday that productive talks had taken place between his envoy and Russian officials, calling for a high-level meeting between Kyiv and Moscow to finalize an agreement.
Earlier reports indicated that the Trump administration handed Ukraine a one-page document in Paris, presented as a "final proposal" for peace settlement. Among other points, the US is ready to acknowledge Russia's control over Crimea and ease sanctions against Moscow.
President Zelensky stated on April 24 that the US proposed its strategy regarding Ukraine's territories during negotiations in London, but he noted that after the US proposal, "another document" emerged.
