A meeting of the Senior Supervisory Board of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Center JATEC took place in the capital.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense on April 26, as noted by "European Truth".

The meeting was attended by the head of the board and NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations Tom Hoffus, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy Boyev, Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Brigadier General Oleg Apostol, JATEC Commander Brigadier General Wojciech Ozga, and representatives from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and NATO.

The board members noted that holding a meeting with representatives from NATO and the Polish Armed Forces signifies a purposeful collaboration between the Alliance and Ukraine.

"Our shared goal is to achieve a just peace and stable security for Ukraine. JATEC is vital for both sides," emphasized Serhiy Boyev.

During the meeting, strategic issues regarding JATEC's activities were discussed, including the implementation of previous tasks. Special attention was given to engaging new partners, improving information systems, enhancing education and training, as well as collaboration in developing tactical solutions for military challenges.

Oleg Apostol highlighted the importance of joint efforts in countering threats from enemy drones, which will be the topic of the upcoming NATO Innovation Challenge. Testing of proposals developed during the previous hackathon is already underway.

"Ukraine and NATO continue to strengthen cooperation in various areas, including civilian protection and new technologies. Our work within JATEC demonstrates a shared commitment to rapidly fulfilling tasks," said Tom Hoffus.

As a result of the meeting, clear criteria for achieving full operational capabilities of the Center and plans for 2025-2026 were established.

JATEC, as a joint initiative, supports the integration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with NATO and facilitates the exchange of experience between the two parties.

The commander of the center is Polish General Wojciech Ozga.

JATEC will achieve initial operational capability in January 2025 and fully develop it by the end of the year.
