In Rome, during the funeral of Pope Francis, an important meeting took place between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, the main topic of discussion was the "continuation of diplomatic efforts" to end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

"Right now: Volodymyr Zelensky and Emmanuel Macron are having one-on-one talks about the peace process," Sibiga wrote.

Earlier, Zelensky met with U.S. President Donald Trump, emphasizing that this meeting could be historic. The White House described the conversation as highly productive.

Media reports indicated that the Trump administration handed Ukraine a one-page document, labeled as the "final proposal" for conflict resolution. Among other things, the U.S. is willing to recognize Russia's control over Crimea and ease sanctions against Moscow.

On April 24, President Zelensky stated that the U.S. had proposed its strategy regarding Ukrainian territories during negotiations in London, but after that, another "paper" appeared.
