Canada continues to stand with Ukraine and firmly rejects any peace initiatives imposed by Russia or made without Kyiv's participation.

This was confirmed by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in an interview with Radio-Canada.

Will Canada join a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine? Details

The head of the Canadian government deemed the Kremlin's ultimatums unacceptable, such as the demand for President Zelensky's removal.

“I take great pride in how the Canadian government and Canadians in general support the Ukrainian people. I absolutely reject the possibility of peace being made without Ukraine’s involvement and any demands from... Putin...,” emphasized Carney.

Regarding a potential peacekeeping operation, the Prime Minister noted that Ottawa still needs to assess the conditions for possible participation.

He also confirmed Canada’s involvement in the “Coalition of the Resolute” (coordinated by France and the UK) and discussions on related matters with leaders of these countries.

Macron may become a leading European leader in negotiations with Putin

French President Emmanuel Macron may emerge as the key European leader during negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding peace in Ukraine.

The Telegraph reports that since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, Macron has positioned himself as a mediator between Europe and Putin.

The French President has chosen to keep diplomatic channels with Moscow open longer than anyone else among “the staunchest supporters of Kyiv in Europe,” despite severe criticism of his actions.
