On the night of November 24, Russian troops launched an attack on the energy infrastructure of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
“The situation in Dnipropetrovsk is the most challenging: over 60,000 consumers are without power. In Kharkiv, around 10,000 subscribers have also been left without electricity due to the attack. Energy workers are tirelessly working to restore power as quickly as possible,” the statement reads.
Additionally, due to adverse weather conditions, power outages have affected 45 populated areas in Lviv region, with restoration expected by the end of the day.
“Today, in all regions of Ukraine from 00:00 to 23:59, hourly disconnection schedules and capacity limitations for industrial consumers and businesses are being implemented. We urge consumers to use electricity wisely throughout the day, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening. This helps to reduce the load on the system,” emphasized the ministry.
Since the beginning of autumn, Russian forces have intensified attacks on Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which provides gas to people during the heating season.
