Due to a recent airstrike conducted by Russian forces in Kyiv, two individuals have lost their lives, and nine more have been injured. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv.
"In Kyiv, as a result of the nighttime attack, two people have died, six have been injured, and 18 have been rescued, including three children," the statement reads.
It is noted that emergency services continue to work at the impact sites.
In the Pechersk district, a strike hit a 22-story residential building. "Damage is noted on floors 4-8. The fire has been extinguished, and structural dismantling is ongoing. Rescuers saved one person with limited mobility," the post states.
In the Dniprovs'kyi district, as a result of a strike on a 9-story building, two people died, five were injured, and 17 were rescued, including three children. Fires on floors 5-8 have been extinguished. Work is ongoing to dismantle structures and search for potential victims.
"Firefighting is also ongoing at a garage cooperative," the emergency services added.
Shortly after, the head of the Kyiv Military Administration, Tymur Tkachенко, clarified that one of the deceased was an 86-year-old woman.
"There’s also information about seven injured individuals, including a child. We are verifying this data," he noted.
Klychko later reported about nine injured individuals.
"According to medical personnel, there are already nine injured in the capital, among them one child. Three adults have been hospitalized," Klychko emphasized.
During the night, Russian troops carried out a combined air assault on Ukraine using cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as attack drones. Air raid alerts were declared across the entire country.
