In Ukraine, particularly in Transcarpathia and the Sumy municipal community, November 20 has been declared a Day of Mourning for the victims of the tragic events in Ternopil.
"November 20 has been marked as a Day of Mourning in Transcarpathia," stated Myroslav Biletsky, the head of the Transcarpathian OVA, on Facebook.
He noted that on Thursday, flags will be flown at half-mast across the region. "I ask everyone to refrain from loud music and celebrations. Our land mourns together with the entire country. Sincere condolences to the families and victims!" added the OVA head.
Additionally, the Sumy City Council announced via Telegram that "due to the tragedy that occurred on November 19, 2025, as a result of a massive airstrike on the city of Ternopil, which claimed the lives of civilians, November 20, 2025, has been declared a Day of Mourning in the Sumy municipal community."
In the Ternopil community, November 19, 20, and 21 have been declared days of mourning for the victims of the combined Russian attack on the city.
On November 19, the Russian army launched a missile strike on a residential building in Ternopil. 26 people died, and over a hundred were injured. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on the morning of November 20 that 22 individuals remain unaccounted for following the attack on Ternopil, and search efforts are ongoing.
