President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that after the attack on Ternopil, the whereabouts of 22 individuals remain unknown, and searches are ongoing. He shared this update via Telegram.
«Throughout the night our rescuers have been working in Ternopil, and the rescue operations are still in progress. Currently, the location of 22 people is unknown – their search is ongoing. More than 230 rescuers from nine regions are involved in the efforts», – said Zelensky.
According to him, in certain areas, work can only be done manually due to significant destruction and fragmented structures, complicating the search process.
At this point, the President added, 26 fatalities have been confirmed, including three children. «My condolences to the families of the victims», – Zelensky expressed.
He thanked everyone working at the site almost continuously for a full day.
«It is crucial that in such difficult days, despite all the attacks from Russia, our people always know they can rely on rescue and support», – emphasized the head of state.
Reminder: on the morning of November 19, Russian forces attacked Ternopil and the region with strike drones and missiles. The city witnessed hits on two residential apartment buildings.
