On the night of October 19, Ukrainian forces carried out precise strikes on oil and gas processing facilities in the Samara and Orenburg regions of Russia, as well as on a fuel base in Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their Facebook page.
In the Samara region, the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery was hit. Preliminary reports indicate that primary oil processing units (ELOU AVT) were affected, with explosions and fires observed at the facility.
The Novokuibyshevsk refinery produces over 20 types of products, with an annual primary processing volume of 4.9 million tons.
“The extent of the damage is being assessed. This facility plays a significant role in supplying the Russian military,” the General Staff stated.
Another target was the Orenburg gas processing plant, one of the largest in Russia, capable of processing up to 45 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 6.2 million tons of gas condensate annually.
Preliminary findings indicate that one of the gas processing and purification units was hit. Explosions and a large fire have been recorded at the site. Concerning the fuel base in Berdyansk, there are reports of explosions and a fire at the location.
