The Ukrainian air defense forces managed to neutralize 40 out of 62 Russian drones, which were detected at seven different locations. This information was shared by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via their Telegram channel.
According to the report, starting from 7 PM on Saturday, October 18, Russian forces launched an attack with 62 strike drones, including Shahed type, 'Gerbera', and other models from directions: Milleryovo, Kursk, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk. It is estimated that about 40 of these were Shahed drones.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 8:30 AM on Sunday, October 19, the air defense had shot down or suppressed 40 drones in the northern and eastern regions.
Impacts were recorded from 19 strike UAVs at 7 different locations. The attack is ongoing, and several enemy drones remain in the airspace.
