The Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully neutralized 35 Russian drones out of 70 launched on the evening of October 16. This information was shared by the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on social media.
During the night of October 17, starting from 8:00 PM on October 16, the enemy launched an attack using 70 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types from the directions of Milleryovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – RF, and Chauda – temporarily occupied Crimea. About 50 of these were Shahed type.
The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.
As of 9:00 AM, preliminary data indicates that air defense has shot down or suppressed 35 drones of Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the northern and eastern regions of the country.
There were 31 strike drones recorded at 10 locations, as well as debris from downed drones at 2 locations. The Air Force warned that the attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in the airspace.
