Since the onset of the large-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, 1,330 individuals have been affected by mines and explosive remnants in Ukraine, including 135 children. This information was released by the Main Department of Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety on Facebook.
As of October 1, 2025, a total of 1,330 people have suffered due to hostile mines and dangerous remnants of war, with 135 being children and 1,195 adults.
The most affected professions include: farmers - 243 individuals, critical infrastructure workers - 137 individuals, and drivers - 88 individuals.
Among the affected are also: students - 121 individuals, unemployed - 148 individuals, and pensioners - 116 individuals.
The department noted that data collection is conducted systematically, in compliance with the requirements of Protocol II and Protocol V of the Convention on the Prohibition or Restriction of the Use of Certain Conventional Weapons that may be deemed to cause excessive harm or have indiscriminate effects (CCW).
Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are opening criminal proceedings regarding violations by the Russian Federation of the rules and customs of warfare concerning each incident of detonation among the Ukrainian civilian population on Russian mines.
The relevant database and interactive map assist government and humanitarian organizations in informing the population about the risks associated with explosive items and also provide aid to those injured by mine-related injuries.
