The power supply to all facilities of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant that had been left without electricity due to Russian shelling has been fully restored. Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk reported that the radiation levels within the area are normal, and there is no threat to the population.
«I thank our energy workers for their swift and effective response! Your efforts ensure the safety of all Ukraine and Europe,» she emphasized.
Recall that on October 1, the Russian army struck a substation in Slavutych, leaving the city without power. According to Mayor Yuriy Fomichev, the hit occurred at substation «330,» which resulted in the power supply being cut off. Rescue workers and energy specialists worked immediately to switch the network to backup power sources.
Due to the attack, there were also power issues in some communities in the Chernihiv region. The head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported that approximately 20,000 people were left without electricity at that time.
