Today, September 11, the cycling journey known as the «Hope Raising Expedition» has come to an end in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. This project, initiated by Jakub Kepka, involved a ride from Krakow to Kyiv. At the finish line, participants were welcomed by Olena Hovorova, the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration.

«Today we welcomed a delegation from the Polish city of Krakow, a sister city to Kyiv. The cycling expedition was organized by Jakub Kepka, a Canadian of Polish descent, with the goal of raising funds to support individuals with amputations. His aim is to provide necessary prosthetics for military personnel and veterans and to train Ukrainian technicians in the latest innovations in this field. Jakub, a former soldier with an above-knee amputation, continues to inspire others at the age of 67 through his sports activities. Initiatives like this serve as a reminder to the world that the war in Ukraine continues and offer new pathways for rehabilitation for our military through sports», stated Olena Hovorova.

The «Hope Raising Expedition» is held under the patronage of the Mayor of Krakow, Alexander Miszalski. This cycling journey is a testament to resilience and aims to inspire others to believe in their abilities and pursue their dreams, even those that may seem unattainable.
