A practical shooting championship took place at the training center, organized by the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv with the support of the Kyiv City Organization of the Physical Culture and Sports Society "Dynamo" of Ukraine. About 80 participants attended the event, including 15 combat veterans.
The competition had not only a sporting aspect but also a practical focus. Participants practiced shooting exercises that reflected real conditions, which are currently crucial on the front lines. Such training helps police and veterans refine their quick-response skills, tactical thinking, and teamwork – all for a common goal – the defense of Ukraine.
Veterans who participated in the championship showcased a high level of skill and shared combat experiences and practical advice with their colleagues. This event marked another step in the implementation of the police's veteran support policy in Kyiv, emphasizing rehabilitation through sports.
The Assistant Head of the Capital Police for Veteran Affairs, Ruslan Hubanov, noted that these competitions are not just a test of accuracy:
"We are honing skills that can be useful in real situations. Sport and practice are the paths to strength, endurance, and confidence needed in service and on the front lines".
At the championship, the top shooters in the individual standings were awarded valuable prizes from the Kyiv police sports club. Winners received trophies, medals, and certificates from the Kyiv City Organization of the Physical Culture and Sports Society "Dynamo" of Ukraine.
The Kyiv police continue to develop initiatives aimed at supporting veterans and enhancing the professional training of personnel. Unity, endurance, and a high level of skill among each member are the keys to a common victory.
