Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandra Oliynikova has advanced to the final of the prestigious WTA 125 Tucumán Open held in Argentina, featuring a prize pool of $115,000.
In the semifinals, Oliynikova (ranked No. 139 in the WTA) battled for two hours to defeat Greek player Despini Papamichail (No. 200), finishing the match with scores of 6:2, 3:6, 6:1.
In the final, she will face off against the third-seeded Mayar Sherif from Egypt (No. 103).
Should Oliynikova win, she will achieve her career-best ranking at No. 108 in the world.
It’s worth noting that in September, Oleksandra also claimed victory at the WTA 125 tournament in Tolentino, Italy.
