Kyiv Sokol has announced the signing of forward Svyatoslav Tymchenko.
This was reported by the press service of the capital's club.
Last season, the 23-year-old player finished with Odesa Storm, where he transferred from Kremenchuk in a deal involving goaltender Eduard Zakarchenko.
During his time at Odesa, he played 11 matches, scoring 5 goals and providing 7 assists. With Kremenchuk, he scored 4 goals in 17 games.
Throughout his career, he has also played for Dnipro (Kherson), HC Mariupol, and HC Kramatorsk. He became the U-16 champion of Ukraine and, at the senior level, has won silver three times and bronze once in the Ukrainian championship.
Svyatoslav is the son of the famous hockey player Oleg Tymchenko, who played in various North American leagues from 1996 to 2001 and won four championships in Belarus.
Overall, Oleg Tymchenko won the Belarusian championship four times and, in 2011, was a winner of the Continental Cup with Yunost-Minsk.
He was also regularly called up to the Ukrainian national team, becoming the top scorer in Division IA in 2011 and the leading scorer in Division IB in 2013.
It is worth noting that earlier, Sokol signed forward Mykyta Oliynyk, who played for Kyiv Capitals in the last two seasons.
