The Ukrainian national players Issuf Sanon, Vyacheslav Bobrov, and Ilya Sidorov have become champions of Latvia.
The Rīgas VEF team defeated the other capital team, Ventspils, in the final series with a score of 3:1. The decisive match was won by the Ukrainians with a score of 93:91.
Sanon scored 25 points and provided 11 assists, while Bobrov also achieved a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Sidorov contributed 3 points and 4 assists.
The MVP award of the final series went to the experienced VEF captain, Dairis Bertans.
Notably, this is not the first trophy for the Ukrainians this season. In February, VEF won the Latvian Cup, and in early April, they triumphed in the Latvian-Estonian league.
The VEF basketball club was founded in 1958 but ceased to exist in 1992. It was revived in 2007 and has since managed to become the national champion 12 times.
