Starting January 29, a new support program for internally displaced persons (IDPs) has been launched in Ukraine – housing rental subsidies.
This was announced by the Ministry of Social Policy.
The program is aimed at individuals who have lost their homes due to Russian aggression.
IDPs from occupied territories or combat zones, as well as those whose homes are destroyed and unsuitable for living (and who have no other housing in the controlled territory), can receive subsidies.
Support is provided if the family's rental expenses exceed 20% of their total income.
It is also noted that the tenant and landlord cannot be relatives, the tenant must not be receiving state assistance for IDPs, and the landlord must not be receiving compensation under the "Shelter" program.
The amount of the subsidy is calculated individually, taking into account the average income per family member, the number of family members, and the rental cost in a specific region.
The program also covers taxes for landlords: personal income tax, single tax, and military levy.
Subsidies can be processed at service centers of the Pension Fund or CNAPs, as well as online through the Pension Fund portal or the mobile application.
Reminder:
At the end of December, the government introduced housing rental subsidies for IDPs as part of the "Winter Support" initiative. The Cabinet of Ministers extended housing rental subsidies for IDPs throughout Ukraine.
IDPs who have moved to any region controlled by the Ukrainian government can take advantage of the housing rental subsidies.
