A nationwide event titled «March for Freedom» was held in Kyiv in honor of the European Day Against Human Trafficking. The purpose of this event was to draw public attention to the pressing issue of human trafficking and to clarify the nature of this crime as well as how to assist victims. This was reported by the Kyiv police.

Participants included local police, city administration staff, social service representatives, non-profit organizations, and students and teachers from local universities.

«Fighting against human trafficking requires collaborative efforts from law enforcement, state authorities, and society. Forced labor, sexual exploitation, and other crimes affect those who seek refuge but find themselves trapped. Therefore, it is crucial for everyone to understand the risks and know where to turn for help in case of danger,» emphasized Denis Boykov, Deputy Head of the Migration Police.

During the event, law enforcement distributed informational flyers with advice on preventing human trafficking and hotlines for assistance.
