On October 4th in Kyiv, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM the picnic «Family for Every Child» will take place — a wonderful space for communication, support, and inspiration for families who have already adopted a child, as well as those considering it.

The event is organized by the Kateryna Osadcha Foundation in partnership with UNICEF and the Coordination Center for Family Care Development with financial support from the EU and Germany through KfW.

Attendees can expect:

  • live stories from families — adoptive parents and foster carers sharing their experiences and joys of parenting;
  • consultations with specialists — representatives from child services and psychologists;
  • informational sessions — about the first steps towards creating a family and how many children in the Kyiv region currently need family warmth;
  • practical advice for parents — about self-care and maintaining inner resources;
  • a children's area — games and activities for kids of all ages.

The event will be opened by TV presenter and Foundation founder — Kateryna Osadcha.

Start time is at 10:00 AM. Participation is free, but prior registration is required at: forms.gle/obfr6KTg6fFz8Q1s5

«No child should grow up without a family. This event is a space for mutual support and the chance to learn how each of us can help children without parental care,» — noted Kateryna Osadcha.

The following day, October 5th at the Republic Shopping Mall, 1 Ring Road, the exhibition «Talk to Me» will be opened, also presented by Kateryna Osadcha.

The exhibition tells the stories of young people who spent part of their lives in institutional care without parental support. Each exhibit is a powerful photo portrait and candid video interview where the subjects share how institutions impacted their childhood and how life changed when caring adults came into their lives.

The exhibition is designed to remind us that children growing up in institutions do not dream of toys; they dream of a family where they are loved.

Admission is free, and no prior registration is needed. The exhibition will run until October 19th.

The photo project «Talk to Me» is implemented with the idea of the Kateryna Osadcha Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, and other organizations.
