The Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Oleksandr Pivnenko, awarded Major General Frode Ommudsen of the Norwegian National Guard the Order of "Merit" III degree.
Pivnenko announced this on Facebook.
"I warmly congratulate Major General Frode Ommudsen on receiving the Order of "Merit" III degree, as per the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 617/2025 dated August 23, 2025", he remarked.
According to Pivnenko, this honor reflects deep respect and recognition of the significant contribution to supporting Ukraine in our fight against Russian aggression and strengthening international partnership with the National Guard of Ukraine.
"Thanks to Norway's support, particularly from the Norwegian National Guard, we are actively developing the training of our personnel and enhancing our combat capabilities", emphasized the commander.
He highlighted that under Major General Ommudsen's leadership, the Norwegian National Guard demonstrates true brotherhood, professionalism, and solidarity during Ukraine's most challenging times.
"We greatly appreciate the support from the Kingdom of Norway and are thankful for the continuous assistance that strengthens our confidence in our joint struggle", Pivnenko added.
The commander is confident that the Ukrainian-Norwegian partnership will continue to strengthen, fostering experience exchange, enhancing interaction, and bolstering security in Europe and worldwide.
On June 28, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, who is completing his term on August 5, with the Ukrainian Order of Freedom.
