A peaceful demonstration in support of Ukraine was held near the US embassy in Warsaw on Thursday as part of the international campaign "Don't Sell Ukraine," which is taking place in several countries.
The event, organized by the "EuroMaidan-Warsaw" initiative, saw participation from Ukrainians who have found temporary refuge in Poland, local residents, members of the Ukrainian diaspora, and activists.
According to "EuroMaidan-Warsaw," participants gathered to express gratitude to the United States for its support and to call for the rejection of any "peaceful" resolutions that could solidify the consequences of aggression.
"We are sincerely grateful to the United States for everything they have done for Ukraine. For every air defense system that saves lives, for the assistance that supports our economy, for the diplomatic stance that gives us a voice in the world. We see and appreciate this support. That is why we ask: do not allow aggression to be rewarded. Maintain this moral course. Stay on the side of freedom, as always," said activist Emma Zahinaiko during the event.
Participants honored the memory of those who died from Russian aggression with a moment of silence. According to the latest UN data, in July 2025 alone, Russia killed 286 Ukrainian civilians, with another 1388 injured, setting a new anti-record over the last three years. The total number of civilian casualties increased by 48% compared to the same period in 2024.
The demonstration also highlighted the special role of the Budapest Memorandum, signed in 1994. Ukraine voluntarily gave up the world's third-largest nuclear arsenal in exchange for security and territorial integrity guarantees, including from the United States.
"Any attempts to 'reset' relations with Russia at the expense of Ukrainian territories or lives send a signal to other autocracies: impunity is possible. This sets a precedent that could destroy the international security system," emphasized activist Nina Tkatchuk from "EuroMaidan-Warsaw."
