The organization “Ukrainian Women in Greece” participated in the cultural festival “Refugee Week Greece” held before World Refugee Day on June 20.
“We celebrated this important day in the warmest way”, — stated the organization's representatives.
As part of Refugee Week Greece, an inclusive culinary gathering took place at Myrtillo café in Athens, uniting diverse cultures.
Greek chef Isidora Antoniou and Ukrainian Galina Martynenko treated guests to traditional dishes from their respective nations. This event brought people together around the table, where taste, solidarity, and openness prevailed.
“Galina shared her legendary meat and potato pies, which, according to her, carry love to everyone who tastes them. She also prepared a traditional Ukrainian surprise dessert that became a revelation for many guests”, — the publication states.
Isidora's baking and Galina's pies created a warm atmosphere of a family table — “where the language of taste transcends all boundaries”.
“It was an event about solidarity, taste, openness, and acceptance. Together — we are strong!”, — emphasized “Ukrainian Women in Greece”.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Community Foundation of Malta announced its participation in Refugee Week Malta.
In addition to showcasing Ukrainian culture, there was also a strong emphasis on the need to support the return of abducted Ukrainian children and prisoners.
