A cultural and spiritual event named «Under the Protection of St. Panteleimon» took place in Kyiv.

More than 500 healthcare workers gathered to celebrate the nominees and winners of the esteemed award for professionalism and compassion, organized by the Kyiv City State Administration's Department of Health.

Participants included Health Department Director Valentina Ginzburg, Honorary Council Chairman Vasyl Knyazevych, and other distinguished guests.

The search for candidates began in February 2025, inviting medical institutions and organizations to submit nominees, resulting in 35 nominations from 23 groups.

This year, awards were given in seven categories.

The winner of the category «Best Doctor» was Anatoliy Ivaniuk, head of the cardiovascular center.

In the «Innovator of the Year» category, Anatoliy Rudenko, a doctor of medical sciences, was honored.

The «Exemplar of Service to Society» award went to the volunteer organization FRIDA Ukraine.

In the «Heart of Medicine» category, Love Martynchuk, a senior nurse, received the award.

The «Fortress of Health» award was won by the Kyiv City Center of Nephrology.

The «Support on the Line of Life» category honored Oksana Surova.

In the «Hero of the Medical Front» category, Irina Makarenko was recognized.

Valentina Ginzburg expressed gratitude to all medical personnel for their commitment during challenging times for Ukraine.

Additionally, it was announced that the Ministry of Health and the Ukrainian League for Palliative and Hospice Care signed a Memorandum to implement the initiative «Light of Memory».

The first event of this initiative will commemorate fallen medical workers on July 10.
