The 2nd FMBB SAR 2025 Championship for Belgian Shepherds took place from April 16 to 20 in Belgium, featuring 56 participants from 15 countries competing in locating victims.
Each team had to complete several stages: obedience and agility tests, plus a search phase.
The Ukrainian team was represented by canine units from the National Club of Belgian Shepherd Owners «Canine Union of Ukraine» from Pavlograd, Odesa, and Kyiv.
«The Ukrainian team showcased an exceptional level of training and professionalism, proudly representing our country on the international stage. Special greetings to our instructor-canine Darina Tytarenko and her Belgian Shepherd Haku, who excelled in the competitions. Darina and Haku secured 2nd place in the «Search in Technogenic Collapse» and «Obedience» Class A categories,» stated «Strazh».
This marks the second time the FCI Cup goes to Ukraine, with Darina and Haku bringing home this victory!
19-year-old Maria Romanova from Pavlograd and her dog Puli achieved 4th place in the «Search in Technogenic Collapse, Level B» category.
Irina Shvets and her dog Natsu from Kyiv, representing the SarCan search and rescue team, placed 5th in the «Search in Natural Environment, Level B» category.
Moreover, the four-legged assistants of Odesa rescuers participated in rescue operations, notably during the tragedy on March 2, 2024, when a Russian drone destroyed part of a residential building, burying people under the rubble.
