In Ukraine, 426 applications have been received for the de-mining of agricultural land under the compensation program, with over 1,500 hectares cleared in 2025.

This was announced by Volodymyr Baida, the director of the Humanitarian De-Mining Center (HDC), during a TV broadcast, according to Ukrinform.

“Currently, there has been significant progress in the program. Throughout its operation, we have received 426 applications covering more than 14,000 hectares of agricultural land (previously, only 3,000 hectares were cleared in three years).

So far, 65 auctions have been held, and contracts have been signed for a total of 835 million UAH under the program. Regarding the cleared area, more than 1,500 hectares have already been cleared this year,” he reported.

According to Baida, 3 billion UAH has been allocated for the program in 2025.

“Farmers are much more active this year. Last year, out of 85 operators, only eight participated in the auctions, while this year there are already about 20,” Baida noted.

He specified that out of 235 applications received this year, 110 were rejected due to the lack of non-technical land surveys.
