In the Rivne region, two adolescents were injured as a result of explosive incidents. One boy lost part of his fingers from a lithium battery explosion, while the other suffered fractures from a firecracker blast.

Both incidents occurred on April 22, as reported by the Rivne police.

The first case took place in Rivne when a 14-year-old boy found a lithium battery on Haidamatska Street.

“The boy took it home and started to dismantle it with a knife. At that moment, it exploded.

Medical personnel rushed the minor to the hospital with traumatic amputation of three finger phalanges,” the authorities stated.

The second incident happened in the village of Horodok, near Rivne. A 13-year-old local resident found a firecracker on the street. When he pulled the string, it exploded.

Doctors diagnosed him with fractures of two finger phalanges, and after treatment, he was released.

“Authorities once again urge citizens: if you find a suspicious object, do not touch it and immediately call the emergency line 102, ensuring that others do not approach the scene,” police advised.

Currently, police are investigating both incidents.
