'Ukrposhta', the state postal operator, is set to launch its revamped mobile app with new features soon — by the end of June this year.
The CEO of the company, Ihor Smilianskyi, stated in an interview with Forbes Ukraine that this project is one of the key priorities for 2025.
"We plan to launch the app by the end of the first half of the year. It will not only track packages but also allow interaction with customs, provide estimated delivery dates, enable document confirmation, and view shipment and payment history," he emphasized.
The previous launch of 'Ukrposhta's' app was scheduled for 2024 but was postponed due to various reasons. The old app has low ratings in the App Store and Google Play Market, with one of its main issues being the lack of notifications about package status. The new app is expected to allow redirecting packages to other branches, which currently can only be done via phone or at the post office.
Additionally, Ihor Smilianskyi mentioned that around 1 billion UAH was invested in automation in 2024. "This amount includes guarantees for five years, and all of it comes from our own funds," he stated.

According to him, now over 90% of parcels are delivered on time. "I measure the effect of automation through Facebook and TikTok feedback. Previously, under my posts, there were numerous comments about 'Ukrposhta's' poor delivery. In the last two months, there have been almost none. This is the most honest indicator for me, as it cannot be faked. We have implemented full automation, and we are currently refining the IT system so that clients can see the estimated delivery date at the time of sending," he concluded.
Recall that in February 2025, 'Ukrposhta' fully automated the sorting of parcels. In January 2025, the government transferred shares of the First Investment Bank, previously owned by Russian oligarchs, to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, and subsequently to 'Ukrposhta'. This will enable the postal operator to establish its own banking institution. Ihor Smilianskyi previously stated that after creating its own bank, 'Ukrposhta's' capitalization would increase, allowing the implementation of an Amazon-like concept in the Ukrainian format. It is also worth noting that last year, 'Ukrposhta' reported a revenue of 12.98 billion UAH, which is 8% more than nearly 12 billion in 2023. However, considering the annual inflation of 14.6%, the actual growth turned into a decline — the losses reached 387 million UAH by the end of 2024.
