The Armed Forces of Ukraine have initiated the implementation of a new digital platform called "Budget", which is based on SAP technology widely used in NATO armies. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.
"I have signed an order to launch the information system 'Budget', which provides up-to-date data on the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces budget expenditures in one place", he stated.
With the "Budget" system, the General Staff, command, and military units can daily monitor allocated, spent, and remaining funds in real-time.
"There is no longer a need to wait for quarterly reports or encounter delays — everything is transparent and timely. This allows for more efficient financial management, identifying delays and inefficiencies, and responding quickly to changes. Over 60% of fund managers are already integrated into the new system", the minister added.
According to him, the system is built on SAP technology, which is a standard in most NATO armies.
"We are creating a modern foundation for managing defense resources, and 'Budget' is its key financial component. We continue the digital transformation that strengthens our military", Shmyhal concluded.
