The parliament has enacted a new bill that will boost mobile infrastructure and improve connectivity. Mobile internet is set to become more reliable and faster, allowing users to evaluate its quality independently. This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
"The adoption of bill No. 12094 is a significant step toward enhancing digital infrastructure and ensuring stable connectivity for all Ukrainians," the statement reads.
"Internet speed will be a critical criterion for connection quality. Establishing a minimum acceptable speed will be mandatory, and mobile operators must provide services within this standard," the message continues.
Citizens will be able to check the quality of mobile internet through their smartphones. Information regarding quality and speed will be sent to the regulator for further analysis.
"This will help identify weak spots in the network and respond to issues promptly. We will provide updates on the new mobile internet quality monitoring system soon," the ministry emphasized.
The moratorium on checking compliance with licensing conditions will be lifted, encouraging operators to construct new base stations in rural areas to reduce connectivity gaps.
National roaming will remain operational even after the state of war concludes. Citizens will continue to use networks of other operators to maintain connectivity in crisis situations, the report states.
"We hope the President will sign this bill shortly. We are committed to ensuring quality connectivity and internet access for every Ukrainian, even in the most remote areas," the ministry added.
