The social initiative «Ukrzaliznytsia 3000» is set to launch in December, with ongoing work to finalize all technical details. This was announced by the CEO of UZ, Oleksandr Pertzovsky, during a press interaction.
Under the «Ukrzaliznytsia 3000» project, Ukrainians will have the opportunity to travel for free within a distance of 3,000 km over the course of four months during the «low» season, when trains operate with low occupancy.
According to UZ, during this period, it is possible to offer up to 250,000 unoccupied seats on long-distance trains. It is these seats that the railway intends to use for the social program.
Preliminary plans emphasize focusing on passengers from frontline areas. It is noted that no additional budget funding for this program is anticipated. The detailed mechanism for its implementation is still being developed.
