In the capital of Ukraine, near the Arch of Freedom, a memorial has been inaugurated in honor of military engineers. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via social media.
"This memorial pays tribute to the military engineers who pave the way for troops through hazardous areas and obstacles. They are always at the forefront," the General Staff noted.
This monument symbolizes deep respect and gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives and to those who are currently serving on the front lines.
Military engineering includes not only sappers but also fortification specialists, technical support, and drone defense, emphasized the General Staff.
The ceremony was attended by government representatives, military personnel, clergy, artists, and residents of the capital, who honored the fallen heroes with a moment of silence. Military chaplains recited prayers and blessed the memorial.
"May this symbol, commemorating the heroic defense of Ukraine, serve as a reminder for future generations about the valor of military engineers," the General Staff added.
Let us remind you that in Ukraine, November 3 is celebrated as the Day of Military Engineers, established by the President's decree on October 27, 1999.
