Ukraine is launching a new phase of online certification for mine action operators through the "Diia" service. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
"From now on, nearly all stages can be completed remotely, from submitting certification applications to appeals. The only aspect that will remain offline is the onsite inspection," Svyrydenko noted.
Separate offices have been established for operators and certification bodies, facilitating swift document and comment exchanges.
Each phase has defined timelines, with the minimum certification duration set at one month.
Currently, there are 125 registered operators in Ukraine, the majority of whom are domestic, with only 8 being foreign.
"Scaling up and speeding up demining efforts are among the government's key priorities, as Ukraine is currently one of the most mined countries in the world," Svyrydenko emphasized.
