In Kyiv, the state flag was lowered at the Parliament building to commemorate the late former speaker Andriy Parubiy.

This was announced by the head of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, on his Facebook page.

“The state flag at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has been lowered. This is how we honor the memory of Andriy Parubiy — a member of several convocations and the speaker of the VIII convocation, who was killed in Lviv. His death is a significant loss for the parliament and all of Ukraine,” emphasized Stefanchuk.

According to him, the flag will remain at half-mast for three days as a sign of mourning and deep respect.

“The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expresses its heartfelt condolences to Andriy Parubiy’s family and friends. Eternal memory,” the post states.

Recall that on August 30, former speaker Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv as a result of an armed attack. According to the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region, Oleksandr Shlyakhovskyi, this murder was meticulously planned.
