Due to improper performance of professional duties during dental treatment, a 7-year-old boy was given a dangerous drug that led to his death. This incident occurred in March of this year at a private clinic in Kyiv.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the anesthesiologist knowingly ignored contraindications that were known to her. After the medication was administered, the patient suffered a cardiac arrest, and medical personnel attempted to resuscitate him for two hours but were unable to save him.
Authorities have charged the doctor with improper performance of duties resulting in severe consequences for the child. Currently, a decision regarding preventive measures is being made, and the doctor faces up to three years in prison.
According to criminal law, such actions can result in penalties including disqualification from practicing the profession for up to three years.
