The suspect has been charged. He faces up to five years of imprisonment for his actions.
A local resident contacted the Kyiv police via the emergency line «102» to report that a young man was climbing onto a car roof on Enthusiasts Street, kicking the windshield, breaking the mirror, and letting the air out of the tires. A detective team from the Dnipro police department arrived at the scene.
According to Vadim Boloto, the deputy head of the Dnipro police department, officers located and apprehended the suspect within an hour under Article 298-2 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine:
«The offender turned out to be a 21-year-old man from Kyiv who was intoxicated. He later explained that he damaged the vehicle because he was unable to control himself due to excessive alcohol consumption».
Investigators from the Dnipro police department have charged the detainee under part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for gross violation.
