The actions of the individuals involved have been classified under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — group hooliganism and causing moderate bodily harm. According to the statute's sanctions, the suspects face up to four years of imprisonment.
Recently, the emergency line ‘102’ received a report from an ambulance crew regarding an incident in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, where a group assaulted a man. A detective-operational group was dispatched to the scene.
Law enforcement discovered that the victim is a 38-year-old former serviceman, a veteran of combat operations, who was discharged from the Armed Forces due to an injury.
While he was walking down the street with a friend, a group of intoxicated youths began to harass them and provoke a conflict. Subsequently, the offenders knocked the man to the ground and inflicted numerous blows with their hands and feet to his head and body before fleeing the scene.
For this crime, the police of the Holosiivskyi Police Department, in collaboration with criminal analysis analysts, quickly apprehended three local residents aged 18, 19, and 28.
Under the procedural guidance of the Holosiivskyi District Prosecutor's Office, they have been charged under part 1 of article 28, part 1 of article 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (causing moderate bodily harm) and part 2 of article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism committed by a group of persons). The victim is currently in the hospital. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
