As part of a large-scale operation, law enforcement conducted 30 searches across various regions of Ukraine, seizing raw materials, finished products, and equipment valued at approximately 2,000,000 hryvnias.
Officers from the Department of Strategic Investigations and investigators from the Main Investigation Department of the National Police uncovered a new network of illegal manufacturers as part of targeted measures to combat criminal groups, whose activities harm rights holders and the country's economy. The offenders operated in Kharkiv, Kyiv regions, and Kyiv, occupying industrial zones and garage areas.
The workshops were equipped with necessary technologies, raw materials, and packaging. To reduce electricity consumption, the criminals utilized alternative power sources. They packaged coffee and various spices in containers branded with logos of well-known Ukrainian and foreign manufacturers.
Counterfeit products were sold as authentic goods nationwide, and orders could be received by mail or through delivery by members of the underground business.
Officers from the DSR and investigators of the National Police conducted searches in Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv and Kharkiv regions, checking residential, production, and storage facilities, as well as the vehicles of the offenders. As a result of the searches, police seized production lines, packaging equipment, raw materials, counterfeit components, vehicles, phones, and notebooks. Thousands of boxes containing ready-to-sell products were also confiscated.
Further investigative actions are ongoing. The criminal proceedings are being investigated under Articles 176 (violation of copyright), 190 (fraud), and 229 (illegal use of a trademark) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The Office of the Prosecutor General is in charge of the procedural management of this case.
