Border guards, in collaboration with law enforcement, have dismantled an international drug trafficking network.
Based on operational information gathered by the border guards, the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment, in coordination with customs officials and under the supervision of the Lviv regional prosecutor's office, located a supply channel for narcotics into Ukraine.
During the inspection of a Renault vehicle entering Ukraine through the «Uhryniv» checkpoint, officers discovered carefully concealed drug packages within the vehicle's structural cavities.

In total, over 27 kilograms of narcotics were seized from the vehicle, including:

  • cocaine - 6,454 g (5 packages),
  • amphetamine - 564 g (1 package),
  • Alfa-PVP («bath salts») - 20,587 g (20 packages).

The estimated market value of the seized substances is approximately 42 million hryvnias.
The driver, a 34-year-old woman from Kyiv, was reportedly acting as a courier and colluded with other members of a criminal organization. Following delivery, the drugs were intended to be mailed and later distributed throughout Ukraine.
The woman has been charged under part 2 of Article 15 (Attempted crime) and part 3 of Article 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Drug smuggling). Her 45-year-old accomplice, also from Kyiv, faces charges under part 2 of Article 15 and part 3 of Article 307 (Illegal production, acquisition, storage, transportation, or sale of narcotic drugs).
Both suspects have been ordered to be held in custody without bail.
Efforts are ongoing to identify all individuals involved in the international drug channel.
