Officials from the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicions against two police officers in Kyiv, who assaulted a man on October 17 near the Holosiivskyi Military Recruitment Center.
The victim suffered multiple blows to his head and body, resulting in severe bruising.
It has been established that the officers attacked the detainee after he used a pepper spray in the car.
The two officers are suspected of exceeding their authority (part 2 of article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The victim has been sent for a forensic medical examination to assess the extent of his injuries.
The law stipulates a potential punishment of imprisonment for up to 8 years.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office is overseeing the proceedings.
