In Kyiv, law enforcement officials apprehended a 37-year-old woman engaged in the distribution of narcotics through postal services. She could face up to ten years in prison for her actions.
Officers from the Desnyansky Police Department arrested the woman on Zakrevskoho Street as she was heading to the post office to send a prepared batch of drugs to her clients. A forensic team was called to the scene.
During the search, police discovered eight packages of methadone hidden in toy boxes.
Authorities found that the woman was sending methadone to clients throughout the city via postal services. In her apartment, she was packaging, disguising, and then shipping the drugs to buyers. The arrest was made in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators have charged her under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for the illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic substances in large quantities for the purpose of sale. She faces up to ten years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
