Authorities have apprehended a 22-year-old suspect involved in a stabbing incident within the train vestibule. He attacked a 37-year-old man who intervened on behalf of a woman. The incident occurred on September 23 at 4:40 PM on the train route «Kyiv-Volynskiy — Berezany». Initially, the intoxicated young man began arguing with the girl. When a man stepped in to defend her, the assailant redirected his aggression toward him. During the altercation, the assailant produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. The victim was hospitalized with a penetrating wound.
After the attack, the assailant fled, but police quickly located and arrested him. The weapon used in the crime was seized. Authorities charged the 22-year-old with two counts under the Criminal Code: hooliganism with the use of cold weapons (Part 4, Article 296) and intentional infliction of serious bodily harm (Part 1, Article 121). He faces a prison sentence of five to eight years. The court has remanded the suspect into custody.
