A 38-year-old man from Kyiv, previously convicted, is now facing up to 10 years in prison.
In August, a 45-year-old woman reported to the Kyiv police that a stranger approached her on the European Union Boulevard and snatched her bag containing her passport and cash. The police quickly identified and apprehended the suspect.
It was revealed that the 38-year-old had a criminal background — he had been previously convicted of intentional homicide in self-defense, robbery, and hooliganism. Investigators charged him under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 4 of article 186 - robbery committed during martial law, and part 3 of article 357 – theft of documents.
Currently, the materials of the criminal proceedings have been submitted to the court. The suspect will soon appear before the court and will be held accountable for his actions under the law. The article's sanction provides for up to ten years of imprisonment.
