The Security Service of Ukraine successfully executed an operation in Kherson, detaining another agent of the Russian FSB. This 26-year-old medical staff member of a local hospital was recruited by the enemy and was responsible for adjusting airstrikes on the city and its surroundings.
The main targets of the Russian forces included strategic locations such as command posts and supply depots. It was crucial for the occupiers to obtain coordinates of Ukrainian positions to carry out drone and heavy aviation strikes.
According to case materials, the agent gathered intelligence during his commutes, filming the locations of our defenders with his phone.
At his workplace, he marked military coordinates on maps and reported back to the FSB.
SBU employees uncovered his activities, documented the facts, and conducted measures to protect military positions.
As a result of the special operation, the perpetrator was arrested.
The investigation revealed that the medic was recruited through a former neighbor who moved to Russia after the liberation of Kherson.
During searches, a smartphone containing evidence of his activities for the aggressor was found.
Currently, investigators have charged him under Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
The offender is in custody, facing up to 12 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by SBU employees in the Kherson region under the supervision of the regional prosecutor's office.
