A 45-year-old man in Kyiv was apprehended by police while trying to transport psychotropic substances on an electric scooter. He aimed to sell them to clients when he was stopped during a patrol on Georgiy Gongadze Avenue.
Officers discovered packaged drugs in zip-lock bags stored in his backpack. A special investigation team from the Podil Police Department arrived to document the incident.
The suspect is a local resident previously charged with drug-related offenses. Cannabis and amphetamines were seized from him, along with about 300,000 hryvnias in cash. Packaging materials were also found in the suspect's apartment.
He has been detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine. Investigators have charged him with illegal acquisition and storage of psychotropic substances in particularly large amounts, which could lead to a sentence of up to 12 years in prison with property confiscation.
