Recently, the Dnipro police department in Kyiv received a report of a car burning on Prague Street late at night. An investigative team and emergency services promptly arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the Toyota car had been set ablaze using a plastic bottle filled with a flammable substance, which was ignited and placed under the vehicle.
During the investigation, detectives, along with criminal analysts, identified and located the suspect, a 33-year-old resident of the capital.
According to the perpetrator, he intended to "get revenge" on the car's driver because he believed the vehicle had nearly run him over on a street days earlier.
Prosecutors from the Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv have charged the suspect under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for willful destruction or damage to property. The penalty for this offense can be up to ten years in prison.
