The case of a man accused of brutally attacking a 21-year-old woman in an apartment building has been forwarded to court. The assailant, hiding his face with a motorcycle helmet, waited for the victim by the elevator, sprayed her face with tear gas, and struck her multiple times with a metal rod. He then stole her mobile phone and fled, but was quickly apprehended by law enforcement. He faces up to fifteen years in prison for his actions.
In July, a report about the robbery of a 21-year-old woman in the entrance of an apartment building in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv was received on the emergency line 102. Investigators swiftly identified the suspect and arrested him. He turned out to be a 34-year-old Kyiv resident. 
During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement clarified that the attacker waited for the victim by the elevator in a helmet, then sprayed her with tear gas, struck her several times with a metal rod, and seized her smartphone.
The investigators, under the guidance of the Solomianskyi District Prosecutor's Office, informed the suspect of his charges under part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – robbery combined with violence dangerous to life and health, committed in a state of martial law.
The investigation is now complete, and the indictment has been submitted to the court. The accused faces fifteen years in prison with confiscation of property.
