Investigators have initiated a criminal case. Under the law, the suspect faces up to eight years in prison.
Recently, a woman reported to the police that her 44-year-old husband had gone missing while driving his car.
Search efforts conducted by operatives and analysts revealed the missing man's route through surveillance cameras and located his vehicle parked in the Obolon district.
It was found that the missing man met with an acquaintance who was demanding repayment of a debt and entered his apartment. A conflict arose between them over the unpaid debt.
During the argument, the apartment owner stabbed the victim, inflicting serious injuries. The man was hospitalized in critical condition, and the suspect was apprehended.
The investigator charged a 48-year-old Kyiv resident under part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional serious bodily harm. The court imposed a preventive measure of detention without the possibility of bail. This article carries a penalty of up to 8 years in prison.
