The Security Service of Ukraine successfully executed an operation that resulted in the elimination of the assassins who attacked an SBU colonel in the capital.

The operation was personally led by the head of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk.

«A group of FSB agents was pre-positioned and planned the murder of our colleague, Colonel Ivan Voronych, for three days. Through targeted investigative measures, we located the criminals. During their apprehension, they resisted, so we had to neutralize them. Our response to the enemy remains unchanged: only death!», emphasized the SBU head.

Vasyl Maliuk also thanked the National Police officers for their support.

He highlighted the importance of countering aggression from Russian intelligence services, as the SBU aims to prevent around 85% of crimes that the enemy attempts to commit on our territory.

The assassination of the colonel was carried out by two individuals who received orders from their supervisor to follow him and provide coordinates for the attack. After the murder, the assassins attempted to go underground, but were located and neutralized in the Kyiv region during a special operation.

It is worth noting that on Thursday, July 10, Russian intelligence agents killed an SBU officer in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, leading to a criminal investigation under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
